Family, friends, and well wishers will, today, converge on Emedike village in Umuchoko Chokoneze autonomous community in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State to bid the late Lolo Ezinne Irene Ejiato Ahaneku (nee Anyanwu) farewell.
Late Ezinne Ahaneku died at the age of 79.
According to the burial arrangement signed by her eldest son, Uzodinma Ahaneku, a Service of Songs was held, yesterday, in her honour, at her late husband’s residence in Emedike, Umuchoko Chokoneze.
Her body will depart Corpus Christ Mortuary, Amuzi, at 7am this morning, to her maiden home town, Umuoghuru Umumbara, Umueze Chokoneze, for a brief reception, after which it will arrive at her late husband’s compound in Emedike, Umuchoko Chokoneze for lying-in-state at 9am.
A funeral service will be held in her honour at the Anglican Church of Epiphany, Chokoneze, at 11am, after which interment will follow at her late husband’s compound.
Ezinne Ahaneku was a devout Christian and women leader, both in the community as well as in the church, where she and her late husband belonged to the body of Knights in the Anglican Church of Nigeria.
He is survived by six children, four male and two female and many grandchildren
