The Eze Ndigbo Ifako Ijaiye  Lagos State, Eze Michael Ezekwobi (Oyiomanatu Ndigbo Gbaagburugburu) has called on Ndigbo in Ifako Ijaiye  to continue to remain at peace with their host community.

In a statement,  the Royal  Father said only peace will guarantee  progress and the well-being of Ndigbo in the Diaspora.

While commending  members of his cabinet for their loyalty and dedication  in promoting  Igbo culture in the Diaspora,  Ezekwobi  said their action was in line with the legacy of the Eze Igbo gburugburu, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu that Ndigbo  in the Diaspora establish cultural Ezes whose responsibility  is to ensure that Igbo culture is promoted and sustained outside  Igboland.

On what he has been doing  to promote Igbo culture  in Ifako Ijaiye,  Ezekwobi said he made Igbo language  compulsory  in all his meetings and social engagements.

“For our culture  to remain afresh and alive  in the mind of  our people, we agreed that Igbo language  remains our official  means of communication during our meetings. We also ensure that our wives speak the language  to our children.  This measure will help save our language  from extinction. Also , we hope to celebrate the annual New Yam festival 2024 in Ifako Ijaiye in a grand style,” he said.
