Moved by recent proposal to the Federal government for the federation to be restructured into 8 administrative regions, the Eze Ndi Igbo Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos, Eze Michael Ezekwobi (Oyiomalatuba Ndi Igbo gbaa gburugburu) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to view the proposal with pinch of salt.

In a statement, the Eze argued that adoption of the proposal would end local government tire government and further push governance away from people in the rural areas.

“Instead of going back to old style of governance we left several decades ago, I would appeal that Mr President stick to the bill being proposed by the National Assembly for the creation of additional states in the various geopolitical zones. This arrangement will not only bring development to the country but would also help end the cry of marginalisation, especially the south east, which has bore the brunt of 5 states while other geopolitical zones enjoyed 6 and 7 respectively.”he said.
