Eze Ndigbo Ghana Eze Ihenetu condemn attacks in Orlu Imo state, calls for peace

Miffed by the bloody clashes between Nigerian security operatives and suspected members of South East Security Network which resulted in deaths and loss of property in Okporo, Orlu Local Government Area of Imo state, the Eze Ndigbo of Ghana, HRM Eze (Dr) Chukwudi Ihenetu has called for restraints on the part of the security forces to avoid more loss of lives.

In a statement made available to Daily Sun, the royal father who has won many awards as peace ambassador equally appealed to  members of South East Security Network to desist from actions that would further escalate the crisis.

While commending Governor Hope Uzodinma for declaring curfew in the affected areas as a measure to bring things under control, Eze Ihenetu appealed to other governors of South East states to take proactive measures to avoid  similar problem in their states.

On what the Federal government should do, the royal father urges protection of life and property. He said  destruction of  life and property will further impoverished the people.

“It is sad that after the untold hardship Nigerians suffered during the EndSars protest and COVID-19 lockdown, avoidable skirmishes between  South East Security outfit  and security operatives has  continued to spread sorrow and tears. I hope the issue would be laid to rest and descalated soon to allow people go about their business.”, he said.
