Eze Igbo Ghana commends Judiciary, President  Tinubu, on local government  autonomy  judgement

The Eze Igbo Ghana,  HRM Amb Dr Chukwudi  Ihenetu, has commended  President Ahmed Bola Tinubu  on the recent Supreme Court judgement, which gave autonomy  to local governments in Nigeria.

In the same vein,the Royal Father, known for his advocacy  for good governance  at the grass roots, equally  hailed the judiciary  for living up to its bidding as the last hope for the common man.

The Supreme Court  on Thursday, July  11, affirms 774 local governments’ financial autonomy

The judgement includes far-reaching decisions that will significantly alter local government administration in the country for good.

In a statement  issued from the Obiukwu  Obieziokwu palace in Ghana, HRM Ihenetu,  Global Peace Ambassador, said the judgement  will open up the rural areas for development .

“As you well know, about 70 per cent of Nigerians  live in the rural areas which formed  the plank of local government.  “With this development, good governance  will spread to all nooks and crany of Nigeria,” HRM Ihenetu  affirms.

In his words of advice to the local government  chairmen,  HRM Ihenetu, who celebrates  2024 Igbo Day/ New Yam Festival  in Ghana on September  15th,  urges them to be transparent in all their dealing as. “For the first time, you have been librated. Money, power, and control  is coming to you thru the judiciary.

”  I appeal to you to be upright  by meeting  the needs of the people.  You must shun corruption  and evolve policies that would bring good  governance  to our people at the grassroots, “he said.
