Tensions in the Middle East escalated further on Tuesday morning after Iran launched a new wave of missiles towards Israel, with a loud explosion reported in Jerusalem and fresh strikes recorded in northern parts of the country.
Iranian state broadcaster, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, announced the development via its Telegram channel, stating that missiles had been fired at what it described as “occupied territories”. It further claimed that the projectiles breached multiple Israeli defence systems.
Shortly afterwards, Israeli authorities confirmed the incoming threat. The military issued alerts indicating that it had detected the missiles and was actively working to intercept them, underscoring the continuing strain on regional security.

In the north, emergency responders from Magen David Adom released footage showing damage to a building struck during the strikes.
However, they confirmed that no fatalities were recorded in the incident.
Even so, the latest exchange highlights the fragile and rapidly deteriorating situation between both countries, with each round of strikes raising fears of a broader confrontation.
As events continue to unfold, attention remains fixed on whether diplomatic channels can still contain the crisis or if the region is edging closer to a more prolonged and destabilising conflict.
