Real estate experts have urged aspiring professionals to prioritise asset ownership, financial literacy and personal credibility as essential tools for building long-term wealth.

The remarks were made during Abode Asset’s fourth anniversary conference and the graduation ceremony of Cohort VI of its advanced realtor certification programme. The programme recorded more than 3,000 registrations, underscoring the growing interest in professional real estate education. The event brought together industry leaders, investors, professionals and aspiring realtors for a day of learning, reflection and celebration.

Opening the conference, Chief Executive Officer of Abode, Jeffrey Itepu, reflected on the company’s four-year journey, describing its mission as one centred on shared prosperity through accessible real estate and simplified asset ownership.

He noted that while the organisation had grown significantly since inception, its commitment to helping more Nigerians build wealth through property investment remained unchanged.

He also encouraged participants to recognise the enduring value of real estate, noting that the increasing interest in land investment was driven by its long-term potential for wealth creation and financial security.

“If people are investing in land, there must be a reason for it,” he said, urging attendees to look beyond short-term trends and understand the lasting value of property ownership as a pathway to building sustainable wealth.

Delivering a keynote address, Mr. Ebunoluwa Olufemi emphasised the importance of knowledge in navigating today’s real estate market, encouraging participants to continuously improve their understanding of the industry.

He noted that real estate education remains one of the strongest foundations for making smart investment decisions, identifying opportunities and helping clients invest with confidence.

He challenged participants to redefine success in the industry, urging them to look beyond commissions and focus on ownership. “Your gain is not just money but also ownership,” he said.

The conference also featured a presentation by the company’s chief operating officer, Damilare Oshokoya, who outlined the company’s strategic direction and reaffirmed its commitment to making asset ownership more accessible through innovation, transparency and education.

He noted that Abode’s vision extends beyond helping people acquire land or own property, stressing that the company’s focus is on creating opportunities for individuals and families to achieve financial security, build sustainable wealth and participate meaningfully in Nigeria’s growing real estate sector.

“Big dreams can start from small places,” he said, describing Abode’s growth as proof that a clear vision, consistency and purpose can transform a simple idea into a thriving real estate ecosystem committed to shared prosperity.

Participants also witnessed the unveiling of a new company campaign aimed at advancing Abode’s mission of expanding access to property ownership and creating more pathways to shared prosperity.

The conference concluded with the swearing-in of new associates of Cohort VI, officially inducting them as certified realtors after completing the training programme.

The ceremony marked the culmination of months of intensive learning and reinforced the growing role of professional education in raising standards across Nigeria’s real estate industry.

As conversations around affordable property, smart investment and financial literacy continue to shape the sector, speakers agreed that real estate should not merely provide income. “It should create owners, build wealth and empower more Nigerians to secure their financial future,” they added.
