The former Maru Local Government Area sole administrator, Hon Yusuf Sani Bindin, has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside his supporters and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
After serving his home local government area as sole administrator for one year and, given his immense political clout, Hon Bindin was again appointed Programme Manager of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (UBE), a position he held until his decision to part ways with the PDP.
A stronghold of Maru Local Government Area politics with a highly respected command of followership, the new APC member said the PDP government and the party are controlled by only a handful of persons who have caged the governor for themselves alone and for their selfish reasons.
He explained that for over two years in the existence of the Governor Dauda Lawal-led administration, it has become increasingly difficult to secure audience with the governor in order to have positive discussions with him that would be beneficial to the citizens.

He said his decision to join the APC, even as it is in the opposition in the state, followed a series of discussions with his supporters and the conclusion that the PDP-led government machinery is no longer working and is worthy of abandonment.
As contained in a statement signed by Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, the immediate past chairman thanked the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, for receiving and welcoming him and his supporters into the APC.
The minister, while receiving the new entrants at a gathering held at his Abuja residence, commended their decision and commitment in joining the APC.
He noted that the APC, which is home to all, will continue to receive many big and small politicians from all the opposition parties, especially the PDP in the state.
He assured that, as members of the APC, they will always enjoy all benefits coming to APC members at all times.
The event was witnessed by the state APC chairman, Hon Tukur Umar Danfulani; MD, NAIC, Hon Yazid Shehu Danfulani; and Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, APC Publicity Secretary, among others.
