A former staff of United Bank for Africa (UBA) renowned for high level of integrity, Ogbanago Muhammed Ibrahim, has extended his resolute support to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Kogi State governorship candidate, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, for the forthcoming election.
Ibrahim’s exceptional character garnered national recognition when he returned a substantial sum of $10,000 to a customer of UBA during his tenure at the bank.
This act of profound ethical fortitude earned him accolades not only from UBA but also from various esteemed organizations.
He received commendations from the National Assembly, and the pinnacle of recognition came when former President Muhammadu Buhari awarded him the distinguished Federal Republic Medalist (FRM) honour, marking his contribution to upholding the highest standards of integrity.
In a statement, Ogbanago Muhammed Ibrahim gave reasons for aligning with Murtala Yakubu Ajaka’s gubernatorial aspirations.
Drawing upon his deep-rooted love for his people and an astute analysis of the prevailing political landscape in Kogi State, he articulated his unequivocal endorsement of Ajaka’s candidacy.
“As one who is beloved by his people, I, Ogbanago Muhammed Ibrahim FRM, wholeheartedly throw my support behind Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the SDP governorship candidate for the upcoming November 11th election in 2023.
“I am appealing fervently to the residents and well-wishers of Kogi East, Central, and West to unite in a collective endeavours to liberate the state from its current state of maladministration and insensitive governance.
“The plights of our people are paramount to me, and this is my stand! #TogetherWeCan,” in a new era of responsive and accountable governance in Kogi State”. Ibrahim said.
