Former Super Eagles defender, Eric Ejiofor has cast serious doubt on Nigeria’s chances of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The one-time Maccabi Haifa player, who earned 14 caps during his international career, says that he is stunned by the poor start to the qualifiers. With just two games left to play, Nigeria trails South Africa by six points on the qualification table, a gap many believe is almost impossible to close.
Ejiofor stated that, unless a miracle happens, the Super Eagles are on course to miss another World Cup, after missing their bid to reach the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
