Former Senate president, Adolphus Wabara, has predicted a rebound for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the party has fully recovered from its internal crisis and now firmly positioned to reclaim its place as a dominant political force in Nigeria.
A statement by the Chairman of the Abia PDP Caretaker Committee, Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow, quoted Senator Wabara as saying this during the presentation of Certificate of Return to party candidates at a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
Wabara said the high-level stakeholders’ engagement was designed to consolidate the party’s structures and intensify preparations for the forthcoming elections.
He cautioned members against being distracted by those he described as “political undertakers” working in concert with external forces to undermine and destroy the PDP, stressing that the party had successfully weathered its challenges and emerged stronger.
He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that the PDP’s renewed unity, strengthened structures and quality of candidates would play a critical role in its resurgence across the country.
Wabara commended the Emeka-Yellow-led Caretaker Committee in Abia State for what he described as its “outstanding efforts in reviving, rebuilding and repositioning the party for greater electoral success.”
He noted that the committee’s commitment, strategic leadership and grassroots mobilization had restored confidence among party faithful and laid a solid foundation for the PDP’s return to power.
