Ex-REDAN President Wamakko tasks FG to fund affordable housing project

A former President of Real Estate Developer’s Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Dr. Aliyu Oroji Wamakko, has tasked the Federal Government to provide funding to bridge housing deficit.

Wamakko, in a statement yesterday, said about 20 million Nigerians lacked affordable housing across the country.

He welcomed the Federal government MOFI scheme which he said would stand as Ministry of Finance Incorporated, an asset holding company in Nigeria that manages the Federal Government’s investments, estates, and rights.

He said: “MOFI is a major financial driver of the Nigerian Economy. so, I called on the Federal government on the under the renewed hope Housing of the president to provide funds for the private sector in making available affordable housing for Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, he Chief Executive Officer of Jedo Investment Limited, raised the alarm over unwholesome practices in the housing sector.

He said the warning became imperative following series of complaints from developers especially within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, against the Moure Consult Limited following series of complaints.
