The reelection bid of Uche Ekwunife, representing Anambra Central, has received another boost as the Association of Past Presidents General (APPAS) in the zone has unanimously endorsed her.
The association settled for Ekwunife, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after concluding its intensive findings and analysis on the best among the candidates based on valued representation, project executions, human capital development, capacity and relationship with the association among others.
Speaking at Awka, Chairman of the association, Ozoh Okonkwo, said Ekwunife’s performance judging by her activities and projects sited in all the communities in the zone stands tall, adding that the association would work to deliver the lawmaker on February 25.
Okonkwo stressed that the lawmaker has entrenched uncommon representation through strategic and robust legislative engagements, describing other candidates as no match to the senator.
He said Ekwunife is a model of quality representation and should be emulated.
“The entire association of Association of Past Presidents General in Anambra Central do hereby endorse Ekwunife to return to the National Assembly to consolidate on her legislative strides,” he said.
Ekwunife, who described the endorsement as timely, noted that she remains committed to the growth and stability of the association. She said she would not look back in uplifting the standards of living of her constituents
In another development, Ekwunife commissioned the skills acquisition centre she attracted to Egwegwe village, Nimo in Njikoka council.
Commissioning the facility, she noted that skill acquisition is one of the cardinal projects of the Federal Government and due to the paucity of Government jobs, youths are encouraged to engage in skill acquisition for substance.
The federal lawmaker encouraged the youths of Nimo and Anambra Central to make proper use of the facility to achieve its aim.
Senator Ekwunife was represented by the project team led by the project director, Hon Ify Chinwuko.
