The former Military Administrator of Sokoto State, Navy Captain Abdulrasheed Adisa Raji (retd), has praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu for what he described as a record of impactful governance and visible transformation across the state.
Raji gave the commendation while receiving a souvenir from the governor after commissioning a newly completed 14-kilometre rural road project in Gwadabawa Local Government Area of the state.
He said that Governor Aliyu had justified the confidence reposed in him by the electorate, noting that Sokoto State is witnessing remarkable progress under his administration.
“You have moved Sokoto from step four to step eight. I’m sure very soon it will reach step ten,” Raji remarked, expressing delight with the pace of infrastructure development in both rural and urban centres.

He particularly commended the governor’s urban renewal initiative, describing it as a major facelift for the state capital. “I am impressed with the renewal project taking place from the airport up to the city centre.”
The former administrator also underscored the importance of continuity in governance, urging successive leaders to build on existing policies and programmes for the collective good of citizens. He appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting the governor to sustain the momentum of progress.
Raji further commended the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his contributions to national growth, describing him as a “good man” whose leadership and wisdom continue to inspire many.
In his response, Governor Ahmed Aliyu lauded the former military administrator for his patriotism and years of meritorious service to the nation. He thanked him for honouring the state’s invitation to commission the project, which he said would significantly improve transportation and economic activities in Gwadabawa and surrounding communities.
The governor prayed for continued good health and divine protection for Captain Raji, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented projects across Sokoto State.
