Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed profound grief over the death of former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu.
Idris described his passing as a moment of great sadness and an irreparable loss to the Yauri Emirate, Kebbi State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor stated this in a statement made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki.
According to him, “On behalf of the Government and the good people of Kebbi State, Governor Idris extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late elder statesman, the people of the Yauri Emirate, his friends, associates, and all those affected by his demise.
“The Governor said the death of Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu, who reportedly passed away in Sokoto after a prolonged illness, has deprived Kebbi State of one of its most respected and distinguished leaders, whose life was dedicated to selfless service, honesty, and the progress of society.
“Comrade Nasir Idris described the late Ibrahim K. Aliyu as a pious, humble, and patriotic leader who served Kebbi State diligently, first as a seasoned civil servant and later as Deputy Governor, leaving behind an enduring legacy of integrity, commitment, and exemplary public service.
“The demise of Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu is deeply painful. Kebbi State has lost a respected elder statesman, a man of wisdom, honour, and uncommon humility.
“His invaluable contributions to the development of our state and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people will continue to inspire generations.
“His legacy will forever be remembered and honoured, not only for his remarkable achievements in politics but also for his distinguished career in the civil service, where his professionalism and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of all.”
Governor Idris prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, the Yauri Emirate, and the entire people of Kebbi State the strength and fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss.
