Ahead of the 2027 general elections and the forthcoming APC primary elections, former Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib, has called on eligible citizens across Nasarawa West Senatorial District to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
Dr Shuaib, an aspirant for the Nasarawa West Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, made the call yesterday during separate consultative meetings with stakeholders in Nasarawa Local Government Area and Toto Local Government Area.
The meetings, which brought together party leaders, members of the executive and legislative arms of the two councils, APC officials and members of the DFS Consultative Forum, also witnessed renewed endorsements for his senatorial ambition.
Stakeholders at the meetings reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC and Abdullahi Sule while pledging support for Dr Shuaib ahead of the party primaries.
Speaking during the engagements, the former governorship aspirant said his decision to contest for the Nasarawa West Senate seat followed Governor Sule’s endorsement of Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the APC’s preferred governorship aspirant.
According to him, loyalty to party leadership and unity among members remain critical to the success of the APC in the state.
“Leadership and power come from God. As loyal party members, we must support the decisions of the party and work together for its success,” he said.
“I remain committed to the APC, loyal to Governor Abdullahi Sule, and determined to continue serving the people of Nasarawa West.”

Dr Shuaib appealed to party supporters to accept recent political developments in good faith and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the APC primaries.
He assured that if elected into the Senate, his focus would be on youth and women empowerment, healthcare delivery, quality education and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people across the senatorial district.
The APC chieftain also stressed the importance of voter registration, describing it as a vital democratic responsibility.
“Voter registration is very important. I want to encourage all eligible citizens, especially young people and women, to come out and register. Your vote remains your voice and your power to determine the future of our communities and the nation,” he added.
Several stakeholders who spoke at the meetings commended Dr Shuaib for what they described as his loyalty and commitment to the party.
Among them were former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Yusuf Omaki, and former Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Council, Abubakar Akum, who urged party faithful to remain united for the progress of the APC.
Also speaking, APC Chairmen of Nasarawa and Toto Local Government Areas, Dahiru Umar Loko and Salihu Umar, described Dr Shuaib’s decision as a demonstration of loyalty to party leadership.
They pledged to mobilise grassroots support for his senatorial ambition ahead of the party primaries and the 2027 general elections.
