Retired Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has called on personnel of the corps to take sporting activities seriously.
Oyeyemi said this was necessary for them to remain physically fit and healthy, and perform their jobs optimally.
He gave the advice on Saturday during his retirement golf kitty organised by Tukur Yusuf Buratai International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
“It is good for one to keep fit, so as a personnel, you must maintain that physical fitness so that your system can be in good shape.
“I encourage staff and all Nigerians to embrace physical fitness exercises, to make them healthier and more productive in their workplaces,” he said.
Oyeyemi expressed the hope that more marshals will embrace golf, so that “within two to three years, we will have professionals among them”.
The Captain of TYB golf and country club, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Bello described Oyeyemi as a great Nigerian who contributed graciously to the growth of FRSC and the club at large.
Bello said that the club was for golf players in the FCT, armed forces personnel other security services, as well as the general public.
He said that FRSC had been very active in the club, adding that during Oyeyemi’s tenure, about 27 golfers from the from FRSC became members of the club.
“Being a golfer and also somebody that respect sport activities, he thought it wise to bring in members of Road Safety.
