Two former governors of Borno State have canvassed for the re-election of Governor Babagana Zulum.
Maina Ma’aji Lawan, third elected governor of the state (1992-93) and Ali Modu Sheriff (2003-2011), while addressing crowd of party members and supporters at a presidential campaign rally in Maiduguri yesterday in Maiduguri, urged the people to return Zulum to the Government House in the March 11 governorship election.
“Zulum has performed tremendously well in Borno and it is good we re-elect him. He has done a lot of work and every Borno man is proud of his landmark,” he said.
Ma’aji also appealed to Borno people to encourage the performance of their leader by returning him to the governor seat during the election.
All Progressive Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, also a former governor, urged the people to remain committed to the candidature of Gov Zulum. It was the first time all former governors in the state will come together to campaign for a reelection of a governor.
Governor Zulum urged the people to let their numerical strength in the ballots.
