Ex-Anambra senatorial aspirant Nsofor dumps PDP for ADC

From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

Former Anambra South senatorial aspirant Prince Chinedu Nsofor has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing alignment with the party’s vision for transformative leadership and economic empowerment.

Nsofor, known for his passionate campaigns on youth inclusion and community development, announced his defection on 2 January 2026 in his hometown of Oraifite Ward 3, Ekwusigo Local Government Area. He was accompanied by supporters, with more expected to join him in the coming days.

A survivor of a July 2025 kidnapping incident, Nsofor attributes his escape to “Divine Intervention” and has since remained committed to public service. His upcoming pet project, supporting national leader Mr Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential bid, promises youth empowerment and grassroots transformation.

“Today marks a significant and strategic realignment for my political career. After careful reflection and consultations with my supporters, I have chosen to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a platform that shares my vision for transformative leadership, economic empowerment, and inclusive representation.

“At my hometown/political ward in Oraifite Ward 3, Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State, I stand before you with my teaming supporters, ready to work tirelessly for peace, development, and progress in our region. This is not just a personal decision, it is a collective commitment to a better Nigeria.

“Anticipate the unveiling of my pet project in the coming days, a strategic initiative in support of our national leader, Mr Peter Obi, as we look ahead to the 2027 presidential election,” Nsofor stated.
