A former gubernatorial aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State in 2023, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe has been honoured by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abia State Chapter.
Presenting the award to Igbokwe popularly known as Don Lulu, the National President of the Council, Sukubu Sareigbe Sukubu said the honour
was in recognition of Igbokwe’s outstanding contributions to youth development and empowerment across the state and beyond.
According to the NYCN, the recognition of Don Lulu as a “Pillar of Youth” is a testament to his unwavering dedication to empowering young people through sustainable initiatives.
The Council praised his consistent efforts in promoting capacity building, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and leadership among Nigerian youths.
“Mayor Lucky Igbokwe has shown through action what it means to invest in the future. His support for young people, especially at the grassroots, has touched lives and inspired a generation,” the Council noted.
Sukubu said over the years, Don Lulu has championed youth-oriented programs, established media and mentorship platforms, supported educational scholarships, and funded numerous philanthropic projects targeted at creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
Receiving the award, Don Lulu, represented by B.I. Apugo expressed appreciation to the NYCN for the gesture.
He pledged his continued commitment to the empowerment and advancement of Nigerian youths.
