The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Vice Chancellor, Professor Aloysius Okolie has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eastwing Aviation Institute, Enugu for the development of aircraft engineering technology in the South East and beyond. Eastwing Aviation was approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to offer training in various Aviation specialties.
At the meeting, the contents of the MoU were read by Mr. Segun Babalola (MNSE) to the hearing of the ESUT Vice Chancellor, the Registrar (Mr. Ambrose G. Ugwu), the MoU Committee Chairman (Prof. Titus Enudu) and other members from ESUT legal units.
In a statement, the Vice Chancellor said, “From the brief history and the capacity built by Eastwing Aviation Institute Enugu over the years and the strength of Enugu State University of Science And Technology, Agbani in impacting both the theoretical and sound practical knowledge to the youths; there is no doubt that the coming together of the ESUT and EAI will produce graduates of Aircraft Engineering who will perform according to the world standard and surpass their counterparts in the world of aviation.”
After the signing of the MoU, Prof. Enudu presented the copies of the signed MoU to the Deputy Provost of EAI, Mr. Abioye Babalola.
In addition, the academic expressed gratitude and optimism about the collaboration of the two institutions saying: “My joy is full not because of anything more than the good things coming to our youths. With this as the foundation of training collaboration between ESUT and EAI, I pray that God will make it as the beginning of greater things in the training of our youths.”
He also thanked EAI for the initiative and warmly welcome of the idea by the Vice Chancellor of ESUT at the beginning of the MoU process.
Commenting on the MoU signed, Dr Christopher Edeh, Proprietor/CEO of Eastwing Aviation Training School, envisaged that the aviation sector in South East will have a boost with the new development.
“I feel very excited for such development. Our youths in South East, Nigeria, and beyond can seize this opportunity to develop themselves in other different from trading. Recall that Eastwing Aviation being the first Approved Aviation Training Organizations in the South East , partnering with a prestigious university like ESUT, will give the students all they need to excel in Aviation Industry,” Edeh said.
