The Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDC) has unveiled a digitised land transaction and documentation platform aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and service delivery in the state’s housing and land administration sector.
The initiative is part of the broader governance reform agenda of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, which seeks to modernise public institutions and strengthen accountability across government agencies.
Officials of the corporation said the new digital system would streamline land documentation processes, facilitate electronic payments, improve workflow management, enhance property verification procedures and accelerate the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O).
According to the corporation, the platform is designed to eliminate many of the delays and inefficiencies associated with manual administrative processes while making land-related services more accessible to members of the public.
Stakeholders in the housing and real estate sector have welcomed the development, describing it as a major step towards improving transparency in land administration and boosting investor confidence in the state.
They noted that efficient and reliable land documentation systems are critical to attracting investments and supporting sustainable urban development.

The digitisation project also forms part of wider institutional reforms being implemented within the corporation to strengthen governance standards, improve operational processes and promote accountability in service delivery.
Industry observers said ongoing governance, audit and operational review mechanisms introduced within the agency have contributed to the restructuring efforts currently underway.
Among professionals associated with the reform process is Adenike Okebu, whose experience spans both the private and public sectors, including positions at EY Nigeria, Deloitte, BUA Group, Platform Capital and Pinnacle Oil and Gas.
Observers noted that governance and audit-focused reforms undertaken within the corporation helped strengthen internal processes and laid the foundation for the digital transformation programme.
The corporation disclosed that improvements have already been recorded in records management, workflow coordination and administrative operations, adding that the newly deployed platform is expected to further enhance efficiency and service delivery.
The latest initiative is seen as part of the Enugu State Government’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, improve governance standards and build systems capable of delivering measurable outcomes for residents, businesses and investors.
