Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has set a Premier League record after becoming the first player to score three hat-tricks in the first half of matches in the competition.

According to a post on Chelsea’s website on Saturday, Palmer reached the milestone during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, when he scored all three goals before halftime to put the Blues comfortably in control.

The England international had previously recorded first-half hat-tricks against Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion, making him the only player in Premier League history to accomplish the feat on three separate occasions.

“With this feat, Palmer is now the only player in Premier League history to score three hat-tricks in the first half of a match (the others coming against Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion).

“It also ensured he further added his name to the Chelsea and Premier League – record books,” Chelsea said.
