Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Everton in their Premier League clash on Saturday, with Pedro Neto scoring twice to hand the hosts their first league defeat of the season.
Neto broke the deadlock just 44 seconds into the second half, finishing off a well-worked move involving Jorrel Hato, who provided the assist.
Chelsea maintained their advantage as Everton struggled to create clear-cut scoring opportunities despite efforts to get back into the game.
Neto sealed the victory in the 90th minute, reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the Everton penalty area after Cole Palmer’s free-kick was blocked.
The result lifted Chelsea above Everton in the Premier League standings, strengthening their position in the early stages of the 2026/27 campaign.

The victory also ended Chelsea’s run of 22 consecutive Premier League matches without a clean sheet, with goalkeeper Mike Penders helping preserve the shutout after replacing the injured Emi Martinez.
However, the result was overshadowed by a head injury sustained by Martinez following a collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The Chelsea goalkeeper was taken to hospital for further assessment.
The defeat ended Everton’s unbeaten start to the league season, while Chelsea continued their recovery after a difficult run of results.
Neto’s brace proved decisive, giving Chelsea all three points at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
