Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano disclosed the development in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, stating that Brighton had accepted an improved proposal from Manchester United for the Cameroon international.
The Italian journalist reported that an agreement between the two clubs is in place, with Baleba expected to join the Premier League giants this weekend.
According to Romano, Manchester United submitted an improved bid on Friday after their previous £65 million proposal was rejected by Brighton.

He added that Baleba is set to join Manchester United, describing the club as the only destination the midfielder wanted.
“Here we go! Manchester United have agreed on deal to sign Carlos Baleba,” Romano wrote.
The transfer, if completed, would see Baleba strengthen Manchester United’s midfield ahead of the new season.
