Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League encounter at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead in the 73rd minute after finishing off a move set up by Matheus Cunha.
The hosts appeared to be in control of the game after Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off in the 78th minute for his involvement in a clash with Luke Shaw.
However, Tottenham refused to give up despite being reduced to 10 men.
The visitors found a late equaliser in the 92nd minute when Dominic Solanke headed home from Sandro Tonali’s cross to earn his side a valuable point.
United had opportunities to extend their lead but failed to convert them, allowing Tottenham to fight their way back into the contest.
The result will be a disappointment for Michael Carrick’s side, who missed the opportunity to secure all three points despite enjoying a numerical advantage in the closing stages.
For Tottenham, the late equaliser provided a morale-boosting result as Roberto De Zerbi’s men continued their search for their first Premier League victory of the season.
