Manchester City kept the Premier League title race wide open on Wednesday night after defeating Crystal Palace 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

The victory moved Pep Guardiola’s side to 77 points, just two behind league leaders Arsenal with two matches left in the season.

Guardiola made six changes to the side that defeated Brentford in their previous outing, and City initially struggled to find rhythm in a cagey opening half hour.

However, the breakthrough finally came after a brilliant piece of play involving Phil Foden and Antoine Semenyo. Foden produced a clever backheel pass that released Semenyo, helping City gain control of the contest.

City doubled their lead shortly afterwards through Omar Marmoush, who calmly finished despite pressure from multiple Palace defenders after a delivery from Josko Gvardiol.

The home side wrapped up the win late in the second half when Savinho found the net after an impressive solo run by Rayan Cherki, who dribbled past several Palace players before setting up the Brazilian winger.

The result puts pressure firmly on Arsenal, who must avoid dropping points in their final two matches to remain in control of the title race.

Manchester City will now shift attention to the FA Cup final this weekend, while Arsenal prepare for a crucial clash against Burnley on Monday night.
