Liverpool manager, Andoni Iraola, has said Ryan Gravenberch’s red card changed the course of the game as the Reds suffered a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

The defeat marked Liverpool’s first loss in the Premier League this season.

The first half ended goalless, but the game took a different turn after Gravenberch was sent off for receiving a second yellow card, leaving Liverpool with 10 men.

Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki scored for City, as they maintained their perfect start to the season.

“There were two different games: one until the red card, and then one after,” Iraola told reporters.

“For 60 minutes, the players were very good. The second game from the red card was where City were better than us.”
