Brighton forward Danny Welbeck is on the verge of joining Chelsea after agreeing personal terms with the Premier League club.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker is expected to undergo a medical before completing the transfer and signing a two-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Welbeck is expected to finalise the move in the coming days, with Chelsea keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is understood to have approved the signing as he looks to add experience and depth to his squad during the summer transfer window.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “Danny Welbeck to Chelsea, here we go! Deal in place with Brighton for the English striker.
“Welbeck agreed terms with Chelsea until 2028, medical next; Brighton approved decision to let him go after formal request from Danny.”
