Calvin Bassey has expressed his reaction following Fulham’s disappointing 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in their opening Premier League fixture.
The Whites suffered a narrow loss to Xabi Alonso’s side at Craven Cottage on Monday night.
Chelsea made a flying start, taking the lead through Joao Pedro just 32 seconds into the encounter.
Fulham responded in the 23rd minute when Joshua King restored parity with a superb strike.
The Blues regained the lead four minutes before the break courtesy of a close range effort from debutant, Morgan Rogers.
Cole Palmer extended Chelsea’s lead four minutes after the break.
Gonzalo García reduced the deficit for Fulham in the 54th minute.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s side were, however, unable to find the equaliser with Chelsea returning to Stamford Bridge with all three points.
Bassey, who captained the Cottagers on the night, praised his teammates for their fighting spirit.
“Good fight, unlucky we couldn’t take it back. We carry on building. Thanks for the support,” Bassey wrote.
