Arsenal F.C. have been crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions, ending a 22-year wait for the league title after rivals Manchester City F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth.

Manchester City’s failure to secure victory means Pep Guardiola’s side can no longer catch Arsenal ahead of the final round of fixtures, handing Mikel Arteta’s men the title with one game to spare.

Arsenal had strengthened their position at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over Burnley, courtesy of a first-half goal from Kai Havertz, opening a five-point lead and piling pressure on City to win their game in hand.

However, Bournemouth frustrated the defending champions at the Vitality Stadium after Eli Junior Kroupi gave the hosts the lead in the first half.

City pushed for a comeback and eventually found an equaliser through Erling Haaland deep into stoppage time, but the draw was not enough to keep their title hopes alive.

Following confirmation of the title triumph, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta paid tribute to supporters and everyone connected with the club.

He said:

“We made history again together, I cannot be happier and prouder for everybody that is involved in this football club. Let’s enjoy the moment.”

The triumph marks Arsenal’s first Premier League title since 2004 under former manager Arsène Wenger and represents a major breakthrough for Arteta after three successive second-place finishes.

Beyond their domestic success, Arsenal are also chasing European glory after reaching the UEFA Champions League final, where they are set to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Budapest.

For Manchester City, the outcome deals a major blow in what is expected to be the final season of manager Pep Guardiola, despite the club already securing domestic silverware this campaign.
