The prestigious Club Seventies Epe, has extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic accident that occurred on 11th November 2024 in Epe, Lagos State, claiming the lives of over five individuals.

In a statement signed by the club’s President, Yunus Yusuf, the organisation expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the impact on the community.

“We are devastated by this unfortunate incident and mourn with the families of those who lost their lives,” the statement read.

The tragic accident, which eyewitnesses attributed to reckless driving and poor road safety practices, has sparked concerns within the community.

In response, Club Seventies Epe called on relevant authorities to enforce stricter safety measures on the roads.

The club also issued a strong warning against road trading, emphasizing its role in endangering lives.

The devastating accident occurred in Ayeyoro, Epe, resulting in three fatalities after a truck suffered critical brake failure while descending from Ita-Opo.

The truck, with registration number DCG-TM-028 collided with a tricycle (AGL 442 QC) and a stationary Toyota Camry at the Ayeyoro traffic light before crashing into the Ayetoro Market Complex.

The victims included the tricycle driver and two students from Manpower Technical School.
