The Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources on Tuesday, hosted the Public-Private Initiative On Youth and Community Development (PPIYCD), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Karu for synergy to promote healthy environmental practice in Karu and beyond.
When finalized, the partnership will include community mobilization and awareness creation for positive attitudinal change in public environmental management habits among residents.
The discussion highlighted the daily influx of new residents in Karu as the fastest growing settlement in West Africa and the attendant low awareness in addressing environmental problems. Commissioner for Environment
Hon. Kwanta Yakubu directed the NGO to fine tune its area of needs for final consideration for engagement.
The NGO is currently implementing the “Dirty dey kill” initiative in Karu.
