The Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDC) has unveiled a new Government Reserved Area (GRA) Extension in Obimo, Nsukka, aimed at expanding planned urban development and increasing property investment opportunities in the area.

The project, described as a “Smart City” initiative, is located in Obimo and is being marketed and managed by My Eya Homes, an estate development and investment firm collaborating with the corporation on the project.

ESHDC said the new estate is designed to provide a structured residential and commercial environment while supporting the state government’s broader housing and infrastructure development goals.

The corporation said plots within the estate are being offered at what it described as affordable rates to attract residents and investors.

It explained that the estate layout has been divided into different density categories to accommodate various building types. High-density plots measuring about 2,000 square metres are designated for high-rise developments, while mid-density plots ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 square metres are intended for buildings of up to three floors.

Low-density plots of about 500 square metres are reserved for private residential buildings, while regular plots measuring approximately 450 square metres are designed for residential or multipurpose use.

ESHDC added that buyers would receive documentation for land registration and a Certificate of Occupancy processing form upon completion of payment.

The corporation noted that the project forms part of the Enugu State government’s ongoing efforts to expand housing infrastructure and promote planned urban growth across the state.
