Stakeholders from Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State have raised concerns over the recent appointments into the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
The chairman of the party in the local government, Simon Attah, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, said that the initial list which included Ugochukwu Agballah from Enugu West and Dr. Daniel Ugwuja from Enugu North was altered, replacing Ugwuja with Toby Okechukwu, a PDP stalwart from Enugu West.
The stakeholders expressed support for the initial nominations which they described as well balanced.
They said that, “The initial list had a nominee from Enugu West Zone in the person of Barr Ugochukwu H. Agballah, and another one from the Enugu North zone in the person of Dr Daniel Ugwuja.
“Unfortunately, the list was tampered with and the only nomination coming from Enugu North (Nsukka Zone) was changed to a known PDP man from Enugu West in the person of Hon Toby Okechukwu.

“We state categorically that we are in support of the initial nomination done by the South East leadership of the APC led by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma.”
The stakeholders also tackled former Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Eugene Odoh, for what they described as baseless and unfounded allegations against the leadership of the party in the South East.
“How can one be an Nsukka man and also be against the nomination of his brother (Dr Daniel Ugwuja) who is representing the entire Nsukka zone in the SEDC?
“This is a case of a political busy body and meddlesome interloper on the part of Odo who has no basis to discuss the problems of APC as he is not a member of APC,” they said.
The APC stakeholders reaffirmed their support for the leadership of the South East APC under Governor Hope Uzodimma, urging members to remain united. They also warned against tolerating “political profiteers and racketeers” within the party.
