Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a tricycle allegedly snatched from its rider in Enugu.

The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Command’s Crack Tactical Squad in collaboration with soldiers of the Nigerian Army stationed in Awgu Local Government Area.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Enugu.

According to him, the arrest followed a report received by the police on 9 March 2026 at about 4:00 p.m., indicating that a tricycle had earlier been snatched from its male rider by a two-man armed robbery gang along the New Garriki axis of the state capital.

He said the suspects allegedly attacked the victim with an offensive weapon before dispossessing him of the tricycle.

Ndukwe said the joint team of police operatives and soldiers immediately swung into action after receiving the report and trailed the suspects.

He said, “Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command attached to the Crack Tactical Squad, in collaboration with a detachment of soldiers of the Nigerian Army stationed at Awgu in Awgu Local Government Area, have arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a snatched tricycle.
