Traditional rulers from Enugu East Senatorial District have pledged support for Governor Peter Mbah’s second term ambition and commended his administration’s performance across critical sectors in the state.
Rising from their inaugural meeting held at the palace of Igwe Julius Nnaji, the monarchs described Mbah as a transformational leader whose governance has redefined development in the state.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the royal fathers praised Governor Mbah for upholding the social contract he entered into with the people of Enugu State.
Reading the communiqué, Igwe Nnaji, who doubles as the chairman of the Enugu East Traditional Rulers Council and first vice chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, highlighted the governor’s strides in education, healthcare, infrastructure, security and economic development.
“In the education sector, he is constructing smart schools in 260 wards to promote computer literacy and artificial intelligence in rural communities.
“In the health sector, he is constructing Type 2 health centres across the 260 wards and Type 3 facilities in the 17 Local Government Areas to promote access to healthcare for rural dwellers,” the communiqué stated.
The monarchs also applauded Mbah’s efforts in enhancing security through the establishment of a command-and-control centre, equipped with modern surveillance cameras and security technology deployed across the state.
“His Excellency has also brought peace to various communities, stabilised the security atmosphere, and restructured the Neighbourhood Watch and Forest Guards, prioritising both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches, welfare, and synergy.”
They described Mbah as the Chosen David, a visionary leader with a clear commitment to rebuilding Enugu’s image and enhancing infrastructure in every part of the state.
