Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of Umuchigbo Community in Enugu East Local Government Area, Chief Afam Ogbuene, has congratulated Dr. Martin Chukwunweike and other members of the newly elected state executive committee of the party.

The executives emerged during the party’s state congress held at Okpara Square on Tuesday.

In a statement, yesterday, he described the emergence of Chukwunweike as a positive and reassuring development for the APC in Enugu State.

“The outcome of the congress shows that our party is becoming stronger and more united. What we witnessed was transparency, maturity and a shared commitment to move the party forward,” he said.

He expressed confidence in Chukwunweike, noting that he has the capacity to reposition the party for greater success.

“Dr. Chukwunweike has demonstrated loyalty, discipline and dedication over the years. I believe he understands the expectations of party members and the responsibility that comes with this office. This is not the time for division; it is the time for consolidation and expansion,” he stated.

He also commended Peter Mbah for fostering unity within the party and sustaining development across the state.

“Governor Mbah has shown leadership by bringing people together. Politics aside, what matters to the ordinary citizen is development and we can all see the ongoing transformation in Enugu State.

Stability within the party will only strengthen that progress,” he said.

He further acknowledged the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, saying the policies at the centre were beginning to reflect positively on states.

“The bold decisions taken by Mr President are not easy, but leadership is about courage. Increased revenue to states has created more room for infrastructure, social services and economic growth. Enugu stands to benefit more when we remain aligned and focused,” he added.

Ogbuene equally commended the Executive Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, for what he described as unprecedented development strides across the council area.

“Pastor Anike has demonstrated commitment to grassroots development. The projects and reforms we are witnessing in Enugu East speak for themselves. Our local government is experiencing renewed energy and purposeful leadership,” he said.

He assured the council chairman of the continued support of the Umuchigbo community and pledged to work closely with him to deepen development at the grassroots.

Assuring the new APC leadership of his support and that of the Umuchigbo community, he said: “We are ready to work with the new executive. The success of the APC in Enugu is a collective responsibility. We will ensure that the party succeeds, not just in our community but in the local government and across the state.”
