The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has dissolved all its local government and ward executive committees as part of ongoing efforts to rebuild and strengthen the party’s structure across the state.
The Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee in Enugu, Dr. Ben Nwoye, announced the decision during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Enugu West Senatorial District in Enugu.
According to Nwoye, the move was in line with the committee’s mandate from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
“This action is in line with the directive of the National Working Committee to go and reorganise the party in the state. We must embrace unity and make it our watchword. Nobody is bigger than the party. Whether you joined today or yesterday, we are all equal members of the APC,” he said.
He explained that the dissolution became necessary after investigations revealed multiple individuals were laying conflicting claims to chairmanship positions at the local government and ward levels.

Nwoye noted that the caretaker committee’s priority was to restore order, cohesion, and inclusivity within the party’s ranks, stressing that the reorganisation would ensure a level playing field for all members.
“This decision is in the best interest of the party,” he added. “Our goal is to reposition the APC in Enugu State and make it a truly united political family that can win elections.”
The caretaker chairman also disclosed that the APC had adopted digital registration as part of its reform agenda, announcing that the party’s new e-registration exercise would be launched by the National Chairman in Owerri, Imo State, on Monday.
He urged all members of the party in Enugu to take part in the exercise, describing it as a critical step toward building a modern, data-driven political organisation.
