in recent times there have been calls for the renewal of pipeline security contracts given to some private security companies in the oil industry,these contracts awarded over a year ago have elapsed and need to be re-awarded expeditiously.
Nigeria is bleeding as result of the relentless assault On our pipelines and critical oil infrastructure by these oil thieves.. it is without gainsaying that these companies most especially Tantita have performed excellently in protecting these infrastructure as attested to by the General manager of the Nnpcl, minister of petroleum, national security adviser in their recent visit of the oil-rich region of the Niger delta, anything beyond the renewal of these contracts for another year is tantamount to setting the nation behind, and taking us back to the dark days of ceaseless attacks on our oil industry.
I hereby use this medium as a concerned citizen to call on Mr president to immediately renew the contract of Tantita to continue its good works of securing our pipelines, and also help in reclaiming and restoring the environment for the good people of the Niger delta..
