Emir of Kano raises concerns about hunger, starvation in Nigeria

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has reaised concerns about hunger, starvation and insecurity under the present administration calling on the First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu to carry the message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Emir stressed the urgent need for these pressing issues to be conveyed directly to the President, emphasizing their escalating severity and the necessity for immediate action.

In his address to  the Emir of Kano highlighted her pivotal role as a conduit for the voices of the populace to reach the highest levels of government. He recognized the significance of her direct access in ensuring that the true extent of the challenges faced by Nigerians is accurately communicated and addressed.

Furthermore, Ado Bayero expressed deep apprehension regarding the increasing levels of insecurity across the country, urging the government to take decisive measures to confront and mitigate these threats. He emphasized the importance of transparency, particularly concerning sensitive matters such as the rumored relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) offices to Lagos, underscoring the need for clear communication with the public.

In addition to discussing national issues, the Emir commended Mrs. Tinubu for her advocacy efforts in child welfare, particularly through initiatives like the Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Programme. He encouraged her to continue her endeavors in uplifting underprivileged individuals, recognizing the potential of such programs to alleviate societal challenges.

Shifting focus to education, Emir Bayero expressed concern about the status of girl child education and urged Mrs. Tinubu to prioritize initiatives aimed at addressing this issue. He also applauded her for extending support to the people of Plateau State during times of crisis, advocating for similar assistance to be extended to all communities in need.

Accompanying Mrs. Tinubu on the visit were prominent figures including Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, and FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, among others. The gathering underscored the importance of collaboration and concerted efforts in addressing the multifaceted challenges facing Nigeria.
