Nollywood actor and filmmaker Emeka Ike has broken down in tears following the death of veteran actor and Nollywood icon, Olu Jacobs.
Jacobs, one of the most respected figures in the Nigerian film industry, died at the age of 84 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
His death has sparked an outpouring of grief among colleagues, fans and other members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, who have continued to pay tribute to his contributions to Nollywood.
In a video circulating on social media, Ike was seen visibly emotional as he mourned the veteran actor.
Reacting to Jacobs’ death, the actor expressed regret over not being able to see him before his passing.

“I’ve not seen him till he died,” Ike said.
Jacobs was widely regarded as one of the leading figures in Nollywood and was celebrated for his decades-long contribution to the growth of Nigeria’s film industry.
