Nasir El-Rufai’s eldest son, Mohammed El-Rufai has voiced his approval of a probe into his father’s administration by the Kaduna State government.

Mohammed, who disclosed this in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service on Saturday, added that he supports the probe provided it is without bias.

He harped on the need to focus on uncovering facts rather than settling personal scores, stating that such investigations should not be used as a political weapon.

The lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said: “If done for selfish reasons, such inquiries only harm progress.”

Speaking on the rift between his father and his successor, Governor Uba Sani, Mohammed said reconciling both men is not his responsibility.

According to Mohammed, the rift between his father and Sani has been exaggerated by the media.

He was also quick to note that he was unhappy about the “cold war” between the two.

“Some people are delighted, seeing my father and the Governor enmeshed in a conflict, just like the legendary Bollywood actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra fighting,” Mohammed stated.
