A Federal High Court in Kaduna yesterday ordered that the former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, should be returned to the detention facility of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) after it adjourned hearing of his bail application till today.
El-Rufai was granted temporary freedom from custody on March 27 to enable him to bury his mother, who died on March 27 in Cairo, Egypt.
However, the court, yesterday, adjourned proceedings on the bail application following arguments under tight security.
Counsel to the former governor, Ukpong Akpan, who confirmed the development shortly after the session, declined to give further details.
El-Rufai was earlier yesterday arraigned before a Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kawo on separate charges.
