Lawyer and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju said former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai deserved his present ordeal.
He said this as a guest on TV Platinum on Friday, a day after El-Rufai’s failed arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
El-Rufai had disclosed on Thursday evening that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) “procured” the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest him at the airport just after he arrived from a foreign trip.
He alleged that the ICPC got its orders from the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

Reacting, Adeyanju said El-Rufai acted like a lord during his tenure as Kaduna governor.
He said, “El-Rufai deserves everything he is getting today. Malami deserves everything he is getting today.
“When El-Rufai was governor, he operated like a lord and a demi-god in Kaduna.
“El-Rufai wanted to arrest the revered and respected Prof. Chidi Odinkalu for criticising him. El-Rufai arrested Shehu Sani for criticising him. El-Rufai arrested Audu Makori and jailed him for criticising him. El-Rufai arrested a critic, Steven Kefas, and jailed him. A popular critic of El-Rufai, Dadiyata, was abducted in front of his house as he was trying to drive into his house. He was abducted in front of his wife by so-called security people. Till date, he has not been found. This is a vocal critic of Nasir El-Rufai.
“In fact, El-Rufai is being treated better than he treated other critics.”
