Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has addressed reports that he decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
On Sunday, reports that El-Rufai had decamped spread on social media and taking to his official X account, he refuted the claims.
In the social media post, he urged members of the public to disregard what he referred to as “patent lies”.

El-Rufai disclosed that those peddling the reports have been referred to his lawyers for further action.
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” he said in the post.
The Nigerian political landscape witnessed mass defections in recent times, most notably Labour Party members opting to decamp to other parties.
