Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso believes his club overcame Barcelona in Sunday’s LaLiga El Clásico match at Santiago Bernabéu because his players did not give up too many opportunities against the visitors.
According to Alonso, Real Madrid had chances against Hansi Flick’s team during the match.
Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham scored goals to help Los Blancos defeat Barcelona.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Alonso said: “It is an important, deserved, even short victory.
“We had chances, the penalty… It gives us the feeling of a competitive team in big games.
“It was the tension of an important match and a close result.
“We didn’t concede too many chances, and I interpret that as normal. We should not overemphasise those tense moments. Everything has happened in the Clasicos, and we have another game on Saturday.”
