Dr Wole Oluyede, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant for Ekiti State’s 2026 election, has praised party members for their zeal in ensuring a smooth, rancour-free Local Government (LG) Congress across all 16 LGAs on Wednesday. The congress, directed by the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), elected officials to strengthen party structures ahead of 2026.
In a press release by spokesperson Gani Salau, Oluyede urged sustained unity: “I commend you for the patriotic roles you have demonstrated in the course of the congress which will go a long way and reshape our focus as a party.”
He added: “It is on this note I will urge you to continue to maintain the tempo of unity already established through our collective decisions as one indivisible family.”
Oluyede stressed replicating this unity at the upcoming State Congress: “The forthcoming State Congress is also crucial to us as a party. We must get it right as we have been doing since the commencement of the Congress and it is a must and by this, we can be talking of 2026 gubernatorial election which is winnable for us.”
He thanked the Eddy Olafeso-led LG Congress Committee for their thorough work and commended security agencies for enabling a peaceful process, urging continued support.
