Ekiti guber: Governors, NASS leadership to lead APC Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC), will on Wednesday inaugurate and unleash the Governor Uba Sani and Senator Godswill Akpabio-led killer squad Campaign Council to ensure a comprehensive victory for the ruling party in the Ekiti State off-cycle governorship election.

The leadership of the party also disclosed that the Campaign Council comprised members drawn from serving and former governors, principal officers of both chambers of the National Assembly, and other eminent party leaders.

APC, in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, explained that the Council is tasked with the responsibility of coordinating and driving the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti governorship poll.

Billed for inauguration at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, the national leadership of the ruling party further explained that the Council will ensure effective planning and campaign coordination.
It equally disclosed that various subcommittees have been constituted to lead activities in key areas like Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Women’s Mobilisation; Youth Mobilisation; and Secretariat Functions.
The statement read: “The APC will formally inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Kashim Shettima Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.”
“The National Campaign Council chaired by Governor Uba Sani has the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, as Co-Chairman, and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as Secretary.
“The Council comprised of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other eminent party leaders is tasked with coordinating and driving the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.
“To ensure effective planning and campaign coordination, various subcommittees have been constituted to lead the party’s activities in key areas, including Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Women’s Mobilisation; Youth Mobilisation; and Secretariat Functions.
“The inauguration is an important part of activities to kick start mobilisation across Ekiti State towards a victorious outing in the upcoming governorship election,” the party’s national leadership noted in the statement.
