National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has boasted that the party has the numbers, strength and was better prepared to win the forthcoming Ekiti State off-cycle governorship election.
Yilwatda expressed confidence in his remarks during the formal inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for Ekiti State governorship election in Abuja.
Boasting that with the calibre and galaxy of political figures drafted into the campaign council the party will easily win the governorship election, Yilwatda challenged other parties contesting the election to show proof where a single governor or National Assembly member has joined them in campaigns.
He argued that beyond every other consideration, the ruling party has a good product and an asset in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, noting that the national leadership was proud of his achievements.
He equally gave assurance to the campaign council that funding will not be a problem.
Turning to the governor, he declared: “You have done very well in terms of infrastructure. You have built roads; you are providing social protection for your people; you are providing scholarships; you are providing health support systems for your people. You are connecting roads; you are connecting hearts across the state.
“We celebrate you and we thank God for giving you to the people of Ekiti and to our party as well. And today, we present you to the people of Ekiti for the second time. As a party, we are not ashamed.
